SELECTED WORKS
Inside the Studio · 2024–2025
The series was created to show the process of art being born from within — through the artist’s own eyes. Alexandra opens up the space of her studio to the viewer as an ephemeral state of creation, where intuition, thought, doubt and inspiration collide. Each painting reflects a moment of inner searching — the transition from chaos to form, from uncertainty to revelation.

The Small Beauty of the World · USA, 2023
The series was inspired by a trip to the United States. The artist finds beauty in the ordinary details of the American street — signs, fire hydrants, lifeguard towers, stations. Each object is presented from an unexpected angle, transformed through intense colour and a personal technique.

ARTIST STATEMENT
ON PRACTICE
I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. But I became an artist not when I learned to hold a brush correctly, but when I began to see: that a yellow fire hydrant on a street corner can be as monumental as a cathedral, and a road sign can say more about a place than any postcard.
The conceptual core of my practice is what I call the small beauty of the world. I am interested in what usually goes unnoticed: the peeling paint on a sign, the grass breaking through asphalt, the texture of a wall you only see if you stop. Through them, I speak about memory, belonging, and the way we inhabit space.
I work from real scenes — the streets of Los Angeles, Parisian markets, the harbours of the Côte d’Azur — but I do not reproduce them. I transform them through colour. I feel close to Matisse and the Fauves, to David Hockney and Edward Hopper.
The series Inside the Studio grew out of a question: what matters more — the result or the process? Real art lives in the process itself — in the doubts, the reworkings, the unexpected discoveries. By depicting canvases, easels, and tools as primary subjects, I invite viewers into that space of searching usually kept hidden.
ON INTENT
I want viewers, after encountering my work, to begin noticing what they previously walked past. Because it is in these details that the story of a place lives: its character, its life, its particular way of being in the world.
